BOARD OF HEALTH.
The Board of Health met this morning; present—ms Hpnot the Superintendent, Dr Brown, And Mr D. Reid. The reports of tie Health Officer, Dr Richard, as to the state of the Quarantine Island since last meeting were read, to the effect that all the scarlet fever cases were doing well, and that there was no appearance ef any fresh case. ‘Dr Richard recommended the removal of Mrs Thomson from the island, as she was now well enough ; and that the children should be landed on Monday next Dr Drysdale forwarded a letter received by him from Dr Richard on the 6th inst., and added that “in reference to a paragraph in it (as to isolation) I may explain that I took it upon myself to recommend Dr Richard to isolate the disputed case, otherwise it would have to be retained for an indefinite time; whereas now, in the event of scarlet fever not showing ifself within ten days after isolation, I should say the patient might be liberated.” Dr Richard’s letter stated that, he had isolated a c.md (supposed to be suffering from scarlatina) in the convalescent hospital. The Board resolved that Mrs Thomson be released from quarantine to-day, and that all others be admitted to pratique on Monday, in the event of no fresh cases breaking out.
