The amount of revenue received at the Custom-house on goods cleared for consumption this day was L 3,003 Is 4d. Gold duty. L 397 5s 7d, on 3,9720z I6dwts of gold. The following is the second half-yearly report of the Standard Insurance Compeny;—“ln presenting the second balance sheet, the directors have much pleasure in directing the attention of the shareholders to the very satisfactory and promising position of the company. The gross income from premiums is L 15,168 15s 7d : and after deducting all ascertained losses and cost of management there remains to the credit of the profit and loss account L 9,945 19s lid. This, together with amount of prospective salvages (which have been paid as for total loss) and interest on investments due at 31st December, L 826 16s 6d, will give a total credit of L 10,772 45s Ud, from which there must be deducted L 7.845, being tbe value of un expired term of current policies, leaving a net available balance of L 2,927 15s lid to be applied as the shareholders may determine. The directors consider that it would conduce to the interests of the company that this balance should remain to credit of account, and that no dividend should be declared for this half-year, and accordingly recommend this course to the shareholders.” CBt Telegraph.] London, February 20.-Wheat depressed.
