MARLBOROUGH RACES. [By Telegraph.] Blenheim, February 17. Ihe Marlborough Jockey Club Races, held yesterday, were well attended, and the weather was exceedingly fine. Hurdle Race, of L2O, Distance, 1 \ mile. Whalebone won both heats. Tally-ho was second in the first heat and Lulu second in the third heat. Maiden Plate, of L 25. Distance, 1J 'mile. Ravenswing 1 Cei fc->inty colt 2 Tangi 3 Scurry Handicap, of L2O. Distance, I.] mile. This race would have been won easily by Guy Fawkes, who came in many lengths ahead of the others, but he having run inside the post the race was given to Ranolf, who came in second. Shearers’ Purse, of LlO. One mile, heats. Ward’s Haphazard ... ... 1 In the first heat Harvester wtls first, winning easily; but in the second heat the horse was detained a few seconds at the starting post, his owner not letting go the horse’s head as soon as he should. The jockey, thinking it a false start turned back, and was distanced. The third heat was therefore walked round by Haphazard, who won the second heat. Jockey Club Handicap, of 30 sovs. Two miles.
