THE BUILDING REGULATIONS.
To the Editor. Sir, -It is reported that a certain proprietor «f an hotel in town has got permission to make •ome alterations to his premises. '1 hese alterations seem to be nothing short of erecting a new building, as be is putting on a second storey of wood, taking away the w<dl at the back and pitfling a new wooden wall up. The only portion of the original building remaining is one storey of the front jwall. Next year be will doubtless apply for permission to make further alterations, when he will take the old front away, and have a new wooden building from the foundation.—l am, &c., Watchdog. Dunedin, Februaiy 10.
