Samson returned at 8 p.m, on Saturday with a full cargo, and steamed alongside the May Queen and Mataura to discharge wool. The s.s. Wanganui arrived from her Southern trip at 8 a m. yesterday, having left the Bluff at 5.30 p.m. on the 6th. Had strong S, W. winds along the coast. The s.s. Beautiful Star arrived from Lyttelton via Timaru at 10.30 a.m. yesterday, and sailed alongside the Calypso to discharge. She left Lyttelton at 2 p.m. on the sth, and Timaru at 5.30 p.m. on the 6th. The Gatlin’s River traders Fanny, Janet Ramsay, and Lloyd’s Herald, arrived yesterday with full cargoes of timber, having been bar bound at that port for over a week. The ketches Kestrel and Jane Hannah left the river on Saturday with full cargoes of timber for Timaru. SHIPPING TELEGRAMS. L7TTELTOV, February 7. —Arrived ; Rakaia, eighty-one days from Plymouth, with 362 immigrants, and nineteen saloon passengers. She has been placed in quarantine. There wore eleven deaths of children, fifty-five cases of measles, and eight of scarlatina during the voyage. T*o cases remain. WELLINGTON, February B.—Arrived : Phoebe, from Lyttelton. Wangaroa.—Arrived, on the 3rd, the barque Royal Diadem, from Dunedin.
