THE COLONIAL PRIZE FIRING.
[By Telegraph ] [From our Special Reporter.) Grahamstown, February 5. The match at 400 and 500 yards on dark targets was concluded this evening, the first prize of L 6 being won by Sutton, of Marlborough, with a brilliant score of 51 points; the second prize of L 5 was taken by Christie, of Otago, with 46 points; and the tnird of L 3 by Purnell, of. Wanganui, with 45 points. There were seven shots at each range. The shooting at the 400 yards’ range was very good, but indifferent at 500 yards. _ The international match to-morrow is attracting a good deal of attention. It is generally believed that the contest will lay between the Scotch and Colonial teams. January 6, 2.38 p m. At the close of tire firing at 400 yards, the English team had scored 225, the Irish 221, the Colonials 218, and the Scoton 211.
