WHEREAS, on the Night of the 26th instant, a large number of young trees and shrubs, planted by the Corporation at the South Dunedin Recreation Ground, were wantonly uprooted and destroyed, notice is hereby given that the Council will pay the above reward for such information as may lead to the conviction of the offender or offenders. THE City Council invites Tenders to he lodged at the Town Clerk’s Office, Manse street, on or before Wednesday, 3rd February, at 4 p.m., from persons prepared to lease from the Corporation a Right to Quarry Stone at the Town Belt for a period of two years, subject to certain written regulations, which may be inspected at the City Surveyor’s Office. The area over which the right to quarry stone will extend is not to exceed half an acre, and the proposed locality should be indicated in the tender.
