CASTLE STREET.
To the Editor. Sir, —T beg reap ctfuily, through the medium of your j mraal, to call attention to the disgraceful state of Castle street, between Stuart street and Hanover street, which appears to be quite overlooked'by our City Councillors, but which is nevertheless an imposition on us as ratepayers. It is noted most prominently for the roughness of its pathway, which badly requires asphalt* ing, as it is an important thoroughfare, and it must be, I am sure, a source of annoy ance and discomfiture to the inhabitants. I will not trespass further in your columns, hoping that these few words will have the desired effect of getting the above street smoothed or otherwise levelled, which we, as ratepayers, are not unentitled to.—l am, &c , S. G. O. Dunedin, January 29.
