Range prizes :At 200 yards, Armstrong, Thames; at 500, Renouf, Napier; at 600, Gascoigne, A.C. 'lhe firing in this match commenced yesterday, and was resumed this morning. The weather is very tine and clear: a stiff S.W. breeze blowing. In this match Christie made a magnificent score at the lust range, scoring five bull’s-eyes and two centres. Wilson made centres throughout till the last shot, finishing with a bull’s-eye. He is still leading for the belt, and is shooting well. Richardson made good shooting at all the ranges, and but for a miss during the rain yesterday at the 600 yards range would have won’one prize. M’Kenzie made no show, missing the target several times. M'Laren made very good shooting, scoring four bull’s-eyes at the 200 yards’ range. Blatch made only average shooting at the last range, otherwise he would have been in a good position. Hoskins dropped off amazingly at the 600 yards, but is pulling up again to-day. The general opinion is that the Belt will either go to Otago or to one of the Constabulary men, although Auckland and the Thames have two men well in. . 1 seventh match, which decides the championship, has yet to be fired. The ranges are 200, 300, 400, 500, and 600 yards, with seven shots at each range. This is the principal match of the contest, the prizes—ten in number being L9O. Xu addition to this, there are five range prizes of L2 each. It is doubtful whether the championship can be decided before Monday. The aggregates in order at the close of the sixth match were ; Wilson, P.C.N.B 212 Blythe, A.O 209 Leigh, Auck 208 Armstrong, Thames 207 Elder, A.C 206 Goldie, 1’.C.N.8 206 Hoskins, Thames 205 Gilbert, A.C 204 Skinner, Auck. ! 202 Chase, A.C 202 Blatch, W.T, 192
