The brig Prosper© and barque Fanny Breslaner were removed from the stream alongside the railway pier, where they will discharge their cargoes of sugar. The 3.5. ' She left the Manakau on the 15th, Taranak' - at 11 a.m. on the 16th, Nelson on the 18th, Picton on the 19bh, Wellington same day, and Lyttelton on the 20th. Experienced fine northerly winds and fine weather to Lyttelton ; from thence strong S.E. gale and heavy sea. We thank Mr Edrainston (her purser) for our files. f > From our Oamaru contemporary we take a few items of interestOn her last trip the schooner Maid of Otago discharged her cargo alongside the breakwater, which fact should be sufficient to convince the sceptical that that work is something more than a useless construction. The Oamaru-owned merchant fleet has received a valuable addition in Mr N, Aitken’s new vessel, the Pelican, of 73 tons. Everything was ready for launching the Emulous at noon yesterday, but owing to the contractor not being able to obtain a sufficient number of men, the attempt was not made.
