PLYMOUTH BRETHRENISM.
To the Editor. Sik, — “Christian Union” in yesterday’s ‘Times’ deserves credit for hio zeal in exposing the doingsof a party which, if his statements are correct, would turn the religious world upside down. Great emergencies generally bring forth a man equal to the need, and well is it for the sects that such an able champion has arisen to do battle on their behalf. What a sad thing it would be if in such a place as New Zealand these people could accomplish their object, and thus be the means of depriving the ministers of the various sects of their support and turning them adrift to seek their living in a manner most uncongenial to their tastes and habits. As “C. U.” seems so well acquainted with these uncharitable people and their tactics, surely ho can suggest some mode of defeating them.—l am, &c., Sect. Dunedin, January 14
