Swt-TP Desertion.— Charles Stirley, fcr de, setting from the ship Araby Maid, was re manned until to-pipi'xow.
Vagrancy.— lsaac Coxswain, fpr paving no lawful means of was sentenced to seven days’ hard labor, Rival Washerwomen. —Mrs Adams v. Mrs Dean, was a claim of 20s for damage done to clothes by defendant’s daughter throwing them down a well. The parties in this case are rival washerwomen, living on Gooseberry Hill, and by the evidence of complainant it appeared that the defendant’s daughter picked up a bundle of clothes which she had just taken down from a line, ran with them to a wel., and deliberately threw them in. Witnesses were called on both sides, the defendant stating that it was only an accident and not done intentionally.—His y/orfkW' iff giving judgment for 10s and costs, remarked that if there were any more similar disputes a different gourse would be adopted. ’* '’ ’
