The amount of revenue received at the Gus lam-house on h oods cleared for consumption this <lav was 1.1,146 0s 7d. Mr Mercer reports (retail prices only) for the week ending January 15 :—Fresh butter in half and one lb prints, Is to Is 2d per lb ; fresh butter, in lumps, la per lb ; powdered and salt batter, Is Id to Is 2d per lb. The supply of fresh butter is stiL very plentiful, and many of the grocers are salting down large quantities ; salt butter, in keg, Is to Is Id per lb, but very little demand at present. Cheese cf the best quality, new. Is per lb; side and rolled bacon, Is Id to Is 2d per lb ; Colonial hams, Is 3d per lb; Guglish hams, Is 6d to Is 8d per lb; eggs are very plentiful at Is 3d to Is 4d per dozen; new potatoes, 15s to 16s per cwt, and 2d per lb; four-pound loaf, 7d.
THE GRAIN MARKET.
.Messrs Brown and Sons report: —“ Oats have a downward tendency, and taay now be quoted at 5s to 5s 3d for feed, and up to 5s 6d for prime milling. Feeding barley is also a little easier. We quote prices 4s 3d to 4s 6d. Good milling wheat is in demand at 5s 3d to 5s 6d ; medium, 4s 8d to ss. Stocks of flour are low; price firm at Ll3 to LI310s; pollard, L6s 10s ; bran, Lslos, scarce.
