Per Egmont, on Friday, January 3, at 2 p.m. Timaru, Lyttelton, Christchurch, and Westland.—Per Beautiful Stai, on Friday, January 8, at 2 p.m. Chatham Islands (for transmission from Lyttelton per Magellan Cloud).—Per Beautiful Star, on Friday, January 8, at 2 p.m. Northern Ports of New Zealand.—Per Phoebe, on Saturday, January 9, at 11.45 p.m. Southland. —Per Express, on Saturday, January 9, at 2 p.m. Northern Ports of New Zealand and Fiji.—Per Southern Cross, on Monday, January 11, at 11.30. British and other mails, via San Francisco, close at this office on Friday, 15th inst. The steamer Otago is expected to leave Hokitika at 11 a.m. on Saturday, the 9th prox. Telegrams for the Australian Colonies or Europe, via Java cable, will be received at this office, for transmission to Hokitika, up till 2 a.m. of the 9th. The steamer Hero is expected to leave Auckland at 10 a.m. on Saturday, the 9th instant. Telegrams for the Australian Colonics or Europe via Java cable, will be received at this office for transmission to Auckland up till 8 o’clock a.m. of the Bth instant. ARCH. BARR, Chief Postmaster.
