THE CALEDONIAN SPORTS.

To the Editor. Sir, —Tn reference to a letter signed “ John Campbell ” in yesterday’s issue of your paper, I should like to ask how it was that on the first day’s walking race both Campbell and M‘Gregor stopped after being pasied by Jacobsen, neither of them con testing the second place, and not even walking round the course ? In any race grounds in England such conduct w uld have been considered as proof of col usion, and the parties involved would have been disqualified for a considerable period. 1 consider your reporter quite justified in making the remarks he did, and the circumstances speak for themselves.—lam, &c., One ok the Public. Dunedin, January 6.
