The filing by the Cadets for the District Prizes awarded by the General Government took place on Saturday and to-day, under the superintendence of Major Atkinson and Captain Walls. For the Dunedin, corps—North Dunedin and No. 1 Company—eleven prizes of the value of L2O are offered ; but, as no representatives from the lormer company took part in the firing, the contest was exclusively contiued to No 1 Company, The ranges were—loo, 200, and 300 yards, seven shots at each; weapon—-muzzle-loading carbine. Hardie The thirty highest scorers in the Colony in this match will compete for the Cadet Champion Belt for 1875 and several money prizes. The conditions of the match will be—Weapons, muzzle-loading carbine; ranges, 100, 200, and 300 yards, seven shots at each; targets, 6x4 feet; centre, 2 feet; bull’s eye, 2xl feet.
