MAILS CLOSE. Northern Forts of New Zealand.— Per Wellington, on Thursday, December 24, at 9.30 a.m. Southland. Per* Express, on Saturday December 26, at 3.30 p.m. There will be a mail despatched from this office for Martin’s Bay ou Monday, 28th inst., at 6 a.m. The steamer Tararua is c.xpectcl to leave the Bluff at 11 a.m. to-morrow, the 24th just. Telegrams for the Australian Colonies or Europe, via Java cable, will be received at the Telegraph Office, Dunedin, for ft-ansmimon to Blnff, up till 10 a.m. The Albion leaves Hokitika at 8 p.m., and telegrams can be sent by her up to 5 p.m. Friday, 25th inst. (Christmas Day), being a Post Office holiday, all mails for despatch that day will close at 8 p.m. ou Thursday, 24th instant. ARCH. BARR.
