It waa organsed by Mr Bennett of the ‘ ew York Herald/who nn f 6 the lon a range championship 800, 900, and 1 000 yards. At the tirstnamed distance the Americans scored five points more than the Irish. The firing at 900 yards was m favor of the Irish by eight points, giving them a clear lead of three pomts on the two ranges. At the thousand yards the Americans scoring exceeded that ot the Irish by one, but still left the latter victors by two points. .v 8 , however, the last five shots of each rifleman were fired atrer dark, it was arrange l that they should be repeated. Ibey were again fired off on Monday and resulted in a victory for the Irish. The American riflemen have accepkd a challenge to shoot another match at Dublin next year.”
