The amount of revenue received at the Cue-tom-house or. ~oods cleared for consumption thil day was LBS3 2s 7d. Mr A. Mercer reports for the week ending December 11 (retail prices only) : —Fresh butter, in £ and 1 lb prints, la to Is 3d per lb ; lump do, Is per lb ; powdered and salt butter, Is 2d per lb. The supply of fresh butter is very plentiful, and the storekeepers are salting down large quantities. Salt butter, in kegs, Is Id per lb, but considered too high, as butter is imported at less price. Cheese is very scarce, of good quality, Is per lb. Side and rolled bacon, Is Id per lb; Colonial hams, ls3 d per lb; English hams, Is 6d per lb. Eggs are in good demand and scarce. Is 9d per dozen. Messrs Maclean Brothers report, for week ending 10th December, as follows : Fat Cattle,—There was a very small supply on Wednesday last, only about 70 head being yarded ; but being all good quality, the competition was very keen, the prices realised showing an advance on late rates. Our sales consisted of a draft on account of Mr Wilson, of Waipori, which realised from L 8 10s to Ll2los for bullocks, and from LBlss to LlO 5s for cows. We quote really prime beef 37s fid to 42s 6d per lOOlbs ; medium and inferior, 30s to 355, Fat Sheep.—About 1,200 of all sorts were penned, which being in excess of trade requirements, 600 had to be held over until next week, those sold realising for shorn cross-breds, 14s to 15s 3d ;in the wool, 20s to 235; merinos in the Wool, 13s 6d to 15s 6d. Our sales consisted of a draft of 398 shorn cross-breds, on account of the New Zealand and Australian Land Coma (Limited), which were all taken by the sat 15s 3d each. We quote prime crossbred mutton, m the wool, 4M to 5d ; do merino 3|d to 4d. Fat Calves.—A few were forward, which realised from 20s to 40s each, according to quality. Fat Lambs.—Only a small lot of really good lambs were forward, which brought from lls to 13s each. We have delivered and sold several small lots during the week at market rates, say from 10s to lls each. Store Cattle. —There is now a very good demand for stores of all descriptions, especially good, well-grown, quiet cattle, which may be quoted at from L 6 to L 7 for bullocks; cows fromL4 to Lslos; mixed herds, 50s to 60s, according to breeding and quality. We beg to call the particular attention of graziers and others to our sale of stores at the West Taieri Yards on Thursday next, the 17th inst., of 200 head of first-class bullocks, speyed cows and heifers, in lots to suit purchasers. Store Sheep.—Good young sheep are now being inquired for, and we anticipate a brisk demand very soon, as the pasture is rapidly improving everywhere. We have placed during the week 2,000 merino wethers, four, six, and eight-tooth, delivery in January, at 6s, and are in treaty for the safe of several other large lots, which we hope-to complete within the next few days. Imported Stock.—We beg to call the particular attention of stockowners to our sale at the Taieri Show on the 30th inst. of the shorthorn bull “Second Earl of Darlington” and fifteen pure Lit coin rams, 2 -tooth, just landed ex Calypso, from London. _ We would direct attention to the sale on the 19th inst. of the township of Abbotsford, surrounding the Green Island llailway Station, plans of which can now be obtained at our rooms. Weo l .—The new clip is now arriving freely, and in all probability we shall hold our first ■ wool sale of the season on the 24th inst. Thus far, with the exception of one clip, which had changed hands privately—price withheld—we nave not heard of any transactions. Sheepskins, Hides, and Tallow.— At the sales yesterday, the demand for skins was easier and prices did not reach the level of last week Our usual weekly sale will be held to-morrow’ when we shall offer a considerable number of green and dry skins, several parcels of hides and some odd lots of tallow. Grain.—The market generally is without material alteration. Prime samples wheat may D© qa©ted up to 6a 6cl; inferior and medium, 4s 3d to ss, Oats continue very scarce, and command extreme rates, say 5s 6d for good feed up to 6s for milling. Malting barley is worth 5s 3d to 5s fid; feed, 4s 6d. By 1 ELEGRAPII. Auckland, December 11.— Mr Buckland reports prices for cattle sustained at 25s to 30s per lOOlbs. Fat sheep, full number, 3d to 3jd being the ruling values. Lambs good at 12s fid to 16s; inferior, Bs. The advance established at the last wool sale was Ad per pound.
