Beautiful Star, s.s,, 146 tons, Peterson, from Lyttelton via Timaru. Passengers: Mrs Green, Mrs MTlroy, Messrs Gunn jSouthcrn, Brook, M‘Leish, Sibbald ; and six in the steerage. Taranaki, s.s., 299 tons, Wheeler, from the North. Passengers :Mr and Mrs Kirsting and child, Mr and MrsDe Montalk and family, Mrs Drake, Mrs Swords, Mrs Stamper, Captain Stevens, Messrs Bridge, Sutton, Whittey, Hackworth, Macassey, Smith, Heffeman, Collins, Nancarrow, Innes, Hill, Bendall, Cook, M'Neil, Covenperthwaith. Cusseu (2), Larnach, Stamper, Denton, Donoghy; and twenty-one in the steerage; also seventeen immigrants. SAILED. December 9. —Jane, cutter, 25 tons, Brown, for Shag Point. Wanganui, s.s., 179 tons, Fraser, for tho Bluff. PROJECTED DEPARTURES. Beautiful Star, for Timaru, December 10. Calypso, for London, early. Christian M'Aushmd, for London, early. Comerang, for Invercargill, December 10. Easby, for Newcastle, December 11. Samson, for Oamaru, December 11. The barque Record was removed from the stream and berthed alongside the railway pier, where she will nischarge her cargo of timber. The schooner Friendship arrived this morning with 37,000 ft of timber from Hokitika, which port she left on November 28. The Taranaki arrived alongside the railway pier at 1.20 p.m. to-day. She left the Manakau at 4 p.m. on the 3rd; called at Taranaki, Nelson, Picton, Wellington, and Lyttelton, having left the latter port at 4.30 p.m. yesterday. Experienced light and variable winds down the eoast from Taranaki. The Harbor Co.’s s.s. Beautiful Star arrived from Lyttelton, via Timaru, at 8.30 this morning, and steamed alongside the ship Christian M'Ausland to discharge 260 bales of wool. She left Lyttelton at 6.20 p.m. on Monday, and Timaru at 7.20 p.m. yesterday. Had S.W, ■winds the first part of her passage, then N.E. winds to arrival. * SHIPPING TELEGRAMS. PICTON, December B.—Arrived: 2.30 p.m., «.s. Maori, from Lyttelton. She made the paspassage up in twenty-one hours. Sails for Nelson to-night. Nelson, December 9.—Arrived : 7 a.tn.. s.s. Maori, from Picton. Sails for Westport at 5 *.m.
