Ship Desert row— Herman WDer was charged by William Stewart, master of the ship Lennox Castlwith deserting from the said ship, and pleaded guilty, it appeared that the accused got an order from the captain yesterday morning to get a quantity of clothing, whicn he obtained, and then deserted, taking the clothing also with him In answer to the Bench, Captain Stewart stated that the vessel would be ready for sea on Monday. His Worship sentenced the accused to twelve weeks’ hard labor, Crptain Stewart to have the option of taking bfm on board when ready for sea.

The number of Natives resisting the sale of the Upper Thames lands is few, but they are influential and determined.
