Sir,—Will you kindly allow me through your columns to as* if aoy one knows why the name of our railway station here has been changed to “ Gieudermid,” and why *uch a peculiar name, if cliaoge were necessary, should have beu ad pt. d’ A manner of persons are under the imp es-ooa that a branch line to a certain sawmill in the district was in course of being formed, and that consequently the new name applied o a station placed there, but I can see no sign of such a branch line having as yet even been commenced. “ Who take* the liberty of altering the n.mes of stations without ever giving the public notice ?” is a q testion I hear asked in all directions. tan you or any of your readers inform me, for I am acting on behalf of the district?—l am, An Old Identite.
