Charge of Stealing Champagne.— John Cooney was charged, on suspicion, with having yesterday stolen from a booth on the race-course one bottle of champagne of the value of seven shillings, the property of Daniel B'ack—This charge was also remanded till Thursday, bad allowed as in the previous case.. Larceny. —A remanded charge against Wm. •• ndrew Jarvey of stealing from Port Mo’yneux two five pound and three onepound notes and one silver watch, was further remanded for a week at the request of Sub-Inspector Mallard, who stated that such adjournment was necessary as the identification was incomplete, and if he was not prepared to proceed on Tuesday next he would ask that the proceedings be withdrawn. Indecent Language. John Warner charged Wm. Brown with using indecent threats to him at divers times, and also applied that defendant he bound over to ke p the peace to him Mr Stewart appeared for complainant, and Mr Harris defended.— Complainant, after stating the facts and the threats used to him, stated most flatly, in answer to the Bench, that he had brought the proceedings out of illvvill, malice, and spite.—His Worship : Then you oweagrudge to the defendant?— Witness (emphatic dly) : I do owe him a deep grudge (laughter), and I have good cause for it.—The case was dismissed.
