Mitchell, Fleet street Dunedin, Tbei October number of the ‘London Journal ’ contains numerous tales continued from former months, and several readable articles and essays. Tho'-eupon “ Past well Park” and “Rochester Cathedral, Kent,” are worth reading. The ladies’ aupplem* nt and colored fashion plate are good, and a full-sized pattern for cutting out a “corsage basquine ” is given in the supplement. The month’s manner of ‘Bow Bells’ has the opening chapters of a new story by W. Harrison Ainsworth,” entitled “The Goldsmith’s Wife ” As in most of his other stories which have appeared in this journal, Mr Ainsworth lays the plot in England, and carries ns back to the time when Edward the Fourth was king.
