INCENDIARISM,
To the Editor. IR >—I presume that you did not send your own ” to the late inquest on the fire in Dowling street, otherwise you would not have fallen into the same egregious errors as the ‘limes.’ Mrs Dick had returned from her walk, when she smelt the tire, and. was not preparing to go out, as your paper and the Tunes have it. Neither did she swear that I took no notice of the fire until it was all over. Again, both papers say that Mrs Dick swore to the effect that she had told Mr M'Cnlloch “it must be ope of ua, and I think it must be Mrs Clayton this is absolutely as incorrect as the previous alleged ■statements. In fact the report, as given, is not correct. Omission is made of several other parts of the evidence, and Mr Campbell assures me that he is misreported. You tdve nothing of the first part of my evidence, and totally exclude the remarks of the Cjroner when, in his address to the jury, he expressed a high opinion of Mrs Dick. 1 trust you wid in justice to all parties concerned insert this letter.—l am, &a, r> i x T , Fm®.
