After nine false starts the lot got fairly away, Parawlienua leading with Yatterina. Last half mile Templeton and Exile passed Pavawhenna, but the latter soon after was passed by Tad mor, and coming down the straight Templeton, Tadmor, and Remnant came to the front. After a splendid struggle Templeton won by half a length. Time, 2min. ISsee. Parawhe* nua and Yatterina were favorites at the start, Selling Race, of 50 sovs. AYeight forage. The flag dropped to a good start, Parawlieima at once taking the lead, with Waverlev close up, and Exile third. Coming round the turn, the three were running very close. Soon however, Wavcrley fell hack, and Exile came to the front. Exile ;md Purawhemia then raced np the straight, but Wavcriey came again ami passing Parawheima, wlmse'bolt was shot’ got within a length of Exile. The old horse, however, was not to be caught, and won easily.
