Court to-day. the chief mate and nine of the crew of the Rosalia were charged by tho captain with refusing to proceed in the vessel, on the alleged ground that she is unscaworthy. Captain Fairchild, of the Luna, deposed that in his opinion tho Rosalia was unseaworthy, or at all events sufficiently so to proceed to Dueedin. The mate, D._ Reid, was sentenced to twelve weeks’ imp.nsomnent, and the others to lesser periods, with hard labor. The Ko alia will t ikc a fresh crew, and will most likdv proceed to Dunedin immediately.

November 13. At a meeting of the creditors of Messrs Stuart and Co., merchants, whose liabilities are LTO,OOO and assets L 42,000, a proposal was.made by Messrs A. P. Stuart and Stevenson and D. T. Stuart (of Wellington), that oh consideration of the creditors handing over the entire assets of the estate, they would offer a composiiion of 15s in the £—one-fourth cash, the balance at three, six, and nine months, with, interest at 6 per cent. Before accepting the offer, tho creditors desired to have the accounts and papers of the firm gone through, to see if the full amount would not be realised. Messrs T. K. Newton, J. 1). Marrev, and H. Koijjohns were appointed a committee to report to an adjourned meeting on Monday, There was a strong feeling expressed that the estate would pay 20s in the pound. A public meeting is convened for the 20th, to take into consideration the present position of the Jockey Club in this Province, with a view to making the annual laces more satisfactory to the owners of horses and the public than they have be.n lately.
