MOSGIEL POST OFFICE.

To the Editor. Sfß,—On Saturday last, 7th instant, I received three Provincial Government ‘Gazettes ’ and two letters, one of which bears Dunedin post-mark October 19. I called at the office twice between October 20 and Saturday last, but received none. There ought not to be any private postmaster in such a district.—l am, &c., A. JV Mosgiel, November 9. To the Editor. Sir, —Some time ami observed a letter m your columns calling the attention of residents here to the advantages, &c., that would flow by having a money order office and bank in this place. Being only a late arrival in the district, I have waited for some action in this matter from those whose duty it is, from their position, sc., to further our requirements; but they appear to ignore this very important deside.ralu-m of progress and civilisation, and are “content with complaining.” I can assure you, Mr bditor, that even the present postal arrangements, especially the delivery of letters and papers here, are provoking, and the sooner the post-office is placed under the control and supervision of a Government official the better. The uncertainty of receiving letters, &c., is quite proverbial.—l am, &c., ~ . . ._ , Sufferer. Mosgiel, November 9.
