STREET OBSTRUCTIONS.
To the Editor. Sir, —Can you inform me whether Mr Inspector Nimon, or anybody else, has control over the movements of the T own express waggons ; or are they justified in loitering about the principal streets as they do ? I notice that the drivers of these vehicles are continually walking their horaas and emptywaggons down the centre of both George and Princes streets, much to the annoyance of other persons driving, and sometime ; entirely stopping the traffic. Yesterday I counted eighteen empty express waggons wandering about the centre of the road between the Criterion and Imperial Hotels', Opposite Briscoe’s three waggons were standings alongside each other in the middle of the road, the drivers doing a puiet smoke and carrying on an animated discussion. I have occasion to drive much about the Town, and find these waggons continually creeping about in a manner much calculated to cause accidents. lam not aware whether there are any regulations concerning express waggons. If nen« exist, allow ine to suggest that the City Council take some action in the matter.—l am, &c , _ S. Dunedin, November B
