w RLLINGTON, October 28. The health of the Douglas immigrants has been re-established. One hundred- are for the Fielding Block, and another hundred will probably be sent to Westland by the first opportunity, at the request of the Superintendent.

October 29. About two months ago the chief clerk of the Stamp Office was suspended for certain irregularities, and a Board of Inquiry made a thorough investigation of the charges and reported to his Excellency. The result is that officer has been fined 25s and his salary reduced LIDO a-year, and he is ordered to hold himself in readiness to leave Wellington on short notice.

Auckland, October 28. o* r? s^a^es that it is the intention of Sir George Grey to publish another paper on the Constitutional position of the Colony. He recommends close union with the Home country, and proposes a secretary of state for each Colony to reside in London, to be placed in direct communication with the Imperial Government on all matters affecting the Colonics.
