The last named prisoner was furthe ■ charged with being an habitual drunkard.—His Worship asked how tbe accused earned a livelihood ? üb-Inspector Mallard • If upon any .Sundav afternoon you would take a walk down King stre- t you would have an opportunity of seeing. He has taken up his quarters oppt site Knox Church, and the scenes that take place there ar ■ really disgraceful—His Worship: ( think it would be quits a charity to send him to gaol for three months. oes he support his wife’— üb-Inspector Mallard: Yes; he does, aftera fa hion ; there are four people li‘ ing in the hou°e togetoer.
