EARLY CLOSING.

To the ‘Editor. Sir,— Mr Sampson, who has advertised his determination to close his shop at two o’clock on Saturday afternoons, will be i o loser by so doing, but, on the contrary, will find that his customers will be increased from numbers who are prepared to countenance the early-closing movement; I, for one, have given him all my support. There are many ladies and gentlemen who are prepared to give potential support to the shops that recognise the Saturday half holiday. With the shopkeepers it is merely a question of gain—of “£ s. d.” Let them secure the custom, of the large and wealthy number who feel and subscribe as I do.—l am, &c., Sympathy, Dunedin, October 22.
