' : Auckland, October 21.. After being locked up all night, the jury in the ‘ Star,’ libel case were discharged, without a verdict. It is understood that eight were for “ Not Guilty,” four for “ Guilty.” At the Bank of New Zealand meeting the report showed a net profit of L 45.703; Balance from last year, L 13.212* A dividend of 10 per cent, was declared, and a bonus of ss. The balance carried forward was Ll3, Old.
Alexandra, .October 21. Rewi has been at. Taupo some time unsuccessfully endeavoring to stop road-making in that' locality. He has written to Manuhiri for hir consent to; spill-blood there.
