The brig Thomas and Henry was towed down from Dunedin by the p.s. Golden Age yesterday. ' The Taranaki, on her last np-trip, made the run to Lyttelton in sixteen hours—one of the quickest on record. - The as. Wanganui having been cleaned, and her bottom repainted, was taken out of the floating dock, and will sail for the Bluff tomorrow afternoon. Captain Jas. Ritfdle, well known in the Otago and Hobart Town trade, having commanded the barques Eucalyptus and Acacia, has been appointed to the command of the barque Medora, 500 tons burthen, due at Lyttelton from China. The Harbor Co.’s s.s. Maori returned at 5.30 this morning from her Northern trip. She left Port Chalmers' at. 1 a.m. on the 13th, arrived at Timaru at 10.30 a.m.; commenced to discharge, but in consequence of the wind and sea rising; was compelled to put to sea the same evening, returned again next morning, and recommenced to discharge, but was again compelled to leave, but ultimately succeeded in discharging her cargo (over 100 tons) on Friday morning, when she left and called at Akaroa, arriving at Lyttelton at 6.30 a.m. on the 17th • discharged and took in cargo, and left for her return tnp at 2.30 p.m. on the 18th ; arrived at Akaroa at 7 p.m., left at 8.45 p.m.; arrived at Timaru at 7.30 a.m. the 19th, and left for Port Chalmers at 6.50 p.m. SHIPPING TELEGRAMS.
