As .soon as the men haid partaken of some refreshments, Mr. fallen, Higgins, and Constables 3}yme,apd hartley, started back on fresh hprses, and searched unsuccessfully the old Port Albert road as far as Merriiman’s Creqk, end at daylight divided Mr^Walien and- Constable Byrne coming on towards Sale, wjhile Constables Martley and Higgins wlent towards Four-mile Creek.
