Notice is hereby giyen, that the “ Town and Country Police Ordin- j ance, 1862" (Section 5, Subjection 25), enacts that “any person of carrying any Fire-arms, Sword, Dirk, Dagger, or other offensive Weapon, within any Town or Public Place in the Province of Otago, without permission of the Local Authority, P liable to be fined in the sum of L 20.” Sailors are therefore cautioned against carrying their Sheath Knives iu Tewns or Public Places within the said Province.
