• . The adjourßed meeting of persons interested in the formation of a home for servants was held; in the hall below the Athenaeum Mr. 15. B. Cargill presided. Bishop Neville, while not disparaging the k idqaof .hiving a Governess’and Seamstress’ Home, considered it desirable that the efforts of the meeting should be confined as much as possible to ; the. original idea of the proposed institution, asd. simplicity was required in the formation ef the rules. The fewer rules the better, as it Was not a penal institution, and the restrictions should be made as light as possible. Roseby, Rigg, Williams, S, Little, Stanford, Penny, Strode, Muir, and Misses plough and bambton with power to‘add to’their number. Ho explained i that this .committee was originally chosen by the ladies interested, and that he simply acted as their mouthpiece. The motion was carried, Major Riohardson protesting against it on account of the large number, andsuggesting that twenty-five form a quorum —(Laughter). •.
