Bluff, September 26. The Albion, with the English mail, left Melbourne at six p.m. on the 21st, and arrived at the Bluff at eight a.m. on the 26th, after a quick run of four days twelve hours. Christchurch, September 25. At a meeting of cricketers held last night, to consider the proposed visit of a Victorian Eleven, there was an influential attendance, and the project was warmly approved. A com’ mittee was appointed to obtain particulars of the probable expenses, to see what subscriptions could be obtained, and confer with Dunedin cricketers on the matter.

At a meeting last night to consider the question of chartering a vessel to convey passengers to the Palmer goldfields, there was a very large attendance. Guarantees were given for fifty passengers should a vessel be obtained onreasonable terms, and a committee was appointed to make complete inquires into the matter.
