Drunkenness —Edward Pott and Jessie Andrews were discharged with a caution; George Maddison was fined 20s, with the option of forty-eight hours’ imprisonment ; and, for being an habitual drunkard, to a further term of two months’ imprisonment, with hard labor. Mary Thompson, against whom there were quite a score’ of convictions, was discharged, the police giving her a good character for the past few months. Disturbance in Princes street —Lina ' ’Callaghan pleaded guilty to a charge of being drunk and disorderly in Princes street yesterday afternoon. Prisoner had only been out of gaol a week, after undergoing a three months’ sentence for vagrancy, and was fined 40s, or fourteen days’ imprisonment. Isabella Lyle was charged with a similar offence, and pleaded guilty, promising to go to the Refuge if let off.—Prisoner was taken at her word, and discharged. CIVIL CASES. Veitch v. Cooper, —Claim L 5 2s 8d for meat supplied. Judgment was given by consent, with costs. Judgment was given by default in the following eases, with costs : —ihomsou v. Findlay, claim Ll for boots sold ; Matthews v, Iveson, L 4 10s for trees supplied. [Left sitting.]
