Messes guthrie amdl^rnach beg to sincerely thank the Captain and Members of the Dunedin Fire Brigade for the laborious and valuable services rendered at the unfortunate conflagration at their works in Princes street on Saturday morning last; and for such services they have pleasure in holding at the disnoaal, on application of the Captain, the sum of LIOO for the benefit of the Brigade. Messrs Guthrie aud Larnach have further to intimate that, notwithstanding the great lo*s and inconvenience their business must suffer through the recent misfortune, from the kind consideration offered them by the City C ’uncil and the public generally, they have already made such arrangements for the carrying on . f their manufacturing business as will suffice to meet the immediate wants of their customers until their works are rebuilt, which, without delay, will be reconstructed on a very large and perfect scale upon their present site, it will therefore be the aim of the firm not to trespass too long upon the patience of its supporters.
