August 23. --Jans Hannah, schooner, 62 lona, Mason, for Gatlin’s River. Beautiful Star, 5.8., 146 tons, Peterson, for Lyttelton and intermediate porta. Taranaki, thern Ports. Passenger*: For Lyttelton— Messrs Bason, De Beer, Snffield, and one steerage. For Wellington Messrs iy«bb, Cameron, and two in the steerage. For the Manakan—One steerage, For Napier—One steerage. The topsail schooner Jane Hannah sailed for Gatlin's River. The N.Z.S.S. Company's Taranaki took her departure for the Northern ports this afternoon. The steamer Beautiful Star sailed last night lor her usual trip to Lyttelton and intermediate ports. The only arrival this morning was the ketoh Isabella, with 30,000 feet ol timber from Gatlin’s River, > . The three-masted schooner Elderslie supposed to be'from Hobart Town, was signalled *at the Heads at noon to-day. The p.s. Oomerang came down from Dunedin last night. The ship Devana, having completed her repairs in dock, was taken out (his morning, when the Comerang was taken in for a thorough overhaul. The brig Pakeba, previously reported at the Heads, was towed up last evening by the tug Geelong. She reports leaving the Bluff 6u Wednesday, with light W.S.W. winds, which continued until arrival at the Heads. She was towed up to Dunedin to discharge. The N.Z.S.S. Conmpany's Ladybird arrived at 3 p.m. yesterday from the North. She left .the Manakan at noon on the 16th; called at Thranaki on the 17tb, and left again at 8.30 a.m., after landing passengers and mails. She could not discharge cargo, on account of a heavy N.W. swell Called at Nelson. Picton, Wellington, and Lyttelton, and left the latter port at 4 p.m. on the 20tb, arriving as above. We thank her purser, Mr Doughty, for report and ties.
