n • August 7. Mr Carrington has presented a petition from Mr J. S. Maofarlane against Mr Von der Heyde’s election, on the ground that he is an alien.

A petition has been presented from 76 Natives of the Thames, praying for amendments in the Native Lands Act.

On the motion of the Premier, the House agreed that on rising to-day it wonld adjourn till half-past seven on Monday, to consider the Licensing Bill. ~
