Dkunkenness. —James Farra was dis charged with a caution.

Ikes?ass. Kate Boyd, charged with being illegally on the premises of Hutton’s Caledonia Hotel, and with refusing to leave when ordered to do so, was fined 10s, with the alternative of a week’s imprisonment. CIVIL CASES. Eleanor Brayshaw v. Michael Cox.— Claim L 3 6s 61, for wages due. Mr K. Cook for plaintiff; Mr Harris for defendant.—Mr Harris pointed out that there was one tech* nical defence which he might urge—the plea of coverture. The husband should have been joined in the action. —Mr Cook asked to be allowed to amend the summons so as to make it more regular. Mr Harris did not like to press a technical defence, and allowed the plaint to be amended. —There was a second claim, in which the plaintiff claimed L 3 for the illegal detention of her clothing. - -The first claim was for wages due, and the second arose through plaintiff being unable to obtain employment owing to her things being detained.—Under the first count judgment was given for LI 6s 6d; and for L2 under the second. Vincent v. Craig and Gilles.—Claim of L 4 10s, for work and labor done as a painter. Judgment was given for Ll and costs.
