M'LANDEESS, HEPBURN, & CO. are instructed by Messrs Gillies and Street, agents for Dr Inglis, to offer for sale by public auction, in their Rooms, Manse street, on Wednesday, sth August, at 2 o’clock, 61 Quarter-acre Sections in the above Township, adjoining the EAST TAIERI RAILWAY STATION, At the Junction of the Main West Taieri Road, the Dunedin and Clutha Railway, and the District Road aud between the Railway Station and Dr Inglis’s residence, and fronting the Main West Taieri Road! The ground is level, aud all available for advantageous building. The position is unrivalled as a site for an inland town, situate as it is at the point of divergence of the main roads of the great agricultural district of the Taieri, and alongside of the Railway Station, towards which all the traffic of that large and populous district will centre. It is about nine miles from town, and there is no doubt that on the completion of the railway, which is nearly finished, an important inland town will arise out of the permanent agricultural, mining, and manufacturing industries already established in that magnificent district. A large population connected with THE MOSGIEL WOOLLEN FACTORY and other industries of a manufacturing character, has already formed the neucleus of a township, securing the permanence of the position as a township ; but this land now offered possesses advantages over any other in being situated between the present township and the Railway Station, and in being above the reach of all floods. Residents in the Taieri, amongst whom there is the greatest anxiety to obtain sections, need no recommendation to inform them of the advantageous prospects of this township; but to persons in town desirous of investing money in Crown lands, the Auctioneers have no hesitation in saying that few opportunities offer of such a sure and steady rise in value as undoubtedly will take place in this township within a very short time.
