MR READER WOOD.

To the Editor. Yon published the folio (ring in last night a Star from your Wellington correspondent :—“ Mr Reader Wood made a bitter attack on Mr Creighton, saying be set his constituency at <|efiance, and that two pf his principal supporters had written to him to resign, as the constituency was virtually disfranchised, but he had refused." Ido not complain of Mr Wood’s attack upon me in my absence, as it is entirely a question of good taste on that gentleman’s part; but I have reason to complain of his state* meats affecting my political conduct, these statements are totally devoid of truth. * have not received any communication of the character mentioned; I have not had a letter on the subject from any of my constituents, and therefore 1 could not have been guilty of the discourteous conduct attributed to me. As no question of - policy affecting my constituents has yet arisen, my unavoidable absence from Wellington has not in any way prejudiced their interests—l am, &c. Robt. J. Creighton.’ Dunedin, July 31.
