HOUSES FOR THE IMMIGRANTS.
the Editor. Sir,— How difficult it is for Governments to get out of any established groove. Our municipal wisdom must continue to flow in the wonted channels, independent of circumstances. Let me try and stir them up to something novel, by combining certain easting facts : 1. The Corporation is advertising sundrv sections to be leased. * 2. A number of immigrants are without houseroom. Their presence in the City is necessary for our prosperity in commerce and manufactures. , Why should not the Corporation utilise its sections by erecting houses for occupation by the multitudes who are flocking into StotionT al l-artere, and cannot find Such action on the part of the Corporation be * P n° fitabl ° ÜBe of Corporation estate, as Well as a duty to those we are onlv° Mtam witkin borders.
