COTTAGES FOR IMMIGRANTS.

‘.IR, —A great deal of philanthropy has been evoked ot late (and rightly so) in behaif of our sailors in providing them while in port with a home. There is, however, another demand on our sympathy, viz., the providing cottages for the thousands of immigrants who are arriving here and aie actually houseless, and are suffering bitterly in consequence. Why should this be so, when the erection of cottages is the best investment that this market offers. lam prepared to prove to any reasonable mind that at least, after providing for every expense, the undertaking would pay 25 per cent, per annum.—l am, &c., _ W.
