Bluff, July 22. The s.a. Otago, Captain John M‘Lean, arrived at the Bluff at 11 p.m. latt night, from Melbourne, with the Australian mails. She left Melbourne on the 15th, and experienced very heavy weather. Nelson, July 22, Charlotte Koseley, landlady of the Bay View Hotel, Suburban North, was found dead under suspicious circumstances. A coroner’s inquest has been held, and the jury, after an hour’s deliberation, returned a verdict of wilful minder against Norman Boseloy, deceased’s husband, and against William Milyradd, his barman, as an accessory after the deed. The body was terribly bruised about the head and face, and the medical evidence was that death had been produced by rupture of the blood vessel in the head, causing pressure on the biam, and that the rupture had been caused by a blow behind the ear.

Auckland, July 22. ilia Supreme Court was occupied all yesterday with the case of J. S. M'Farlane v. Harris, junr. The evidence generally related to the manner in which the informations were mid. Mr John M‘Leod, a Justice of the I eace, and formerly a member of the General Assembly, before whom the informations were sworn, deposed in reply to questions by the h ® Wol dd not put much faith in Ml< arlane’s statement on oath. His knowledge of M'Farlane’s commercial and political influences led him to believe that M'Farlane was a dangerous man. The case has not concluded.
