[Bt Telegraph.] Wellington, July 14 Cel. Brett intends introducing a Bill into the Council te abolish Volunteers. The Supreme Court Judges Act makes the following provision for a retiring allowance s —After ten years’ service, three-twelfths of annual salary ; fifteen years’, four-twelfths j twenty years’, five-twelfths ; twenty-five years’, half; thirty years’, seven-twelfts ; thirty-five years, eight-twelfths. The superaunaation allowance for Judges over sixty years of age, resigning office after fifteen and less thau twenty-five years’ service, will be halt salary. The Post Office Savings Bank Amendment Act increases the limit on which interest will be paid from L6OO to Ll,ooo. Mr Richmond moves for a call of the Council for the SQth instant.

Mr Vogel to-night will make a Ministerial explanation respecting conservation of forests.
