Our attention has been called to an error in our leading column off the 7th, in which we commented upon the political economy of the bouthlaad Waste Land Board. It appears that in accrediting the Chief (Commissioner with common sense views on the subject, we attributed to him what ought to have been awarded co Mr Mitchell, who was chairman for the time being of the Board at that sitting. We shall be very glad if his views are shared in by the Chief Commissioner, but the report of the last mee ing of the Board, received this morning, gives ample room to believe that he is infected with the narrow policy of the majority of the Board.
